The Native Gourmets is a family affair starting with mother (Lisa) & daughters (Aliesha & Kayla)  who are total foodies and grand daughters in training.  Our Native roots are in Humboldt County in the Northern Coast of California and Wisconsin, Momma spent years of being frybread connoisseurs in her work all across Indian country.  She tasted and learned fry bread styles  from reservation to reservation and came up with her own billowy and crispy version - The Yurok Humboldt style!  Sweet or savory, the simple ingredients crafted into this version of yummy fry bread we believe takes the experience to a whole other level.

Because we come from a community that values locally sourced products, we can change organic up or down.  We love adding to our bread recipe our favorite Becks flour made from locally grown Sonora wheat that's freshly milled, grass fed beef, locally produced cheeses (when available), salsas, habanero sauces and source our vegetables from

Chili & all the fixins

We top our tacos with meat chili from a family recipe grandma Joy started that our family has enjoyed for years.  Then we add  cheese, freshly shredded cabbage, fresh chopped tomatoes, salsa & a good dollop of sour cream.  (Add a splash of of heat with hot sauce or jalapenos!) 


Sweet Spot

We love sourcing local honey & butter, or tossing a piping hot piece in cinnamon sugar, nutella & whipped cream, or any compote made from fresh fruit in season & cream.  One bite and you are in heaven and loosening the belt!
